Crop insurance is a key component of a farmer's risk management strategy. That's why the USA Pulses and the Risk Management Agency developed the Pulse Crop Revenue Insurance Program, a pilot program to provide pulse crop growers revenue-based crop insurance. Currently, thousands of pulse growers across Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Washington are receiving revenue-based insurance on their dry peas, lentils, and chickpeas.  Under this pilot program, several classes of dry beans are covered as well.
