MOSCOW, Idaho – January XX, 2026 – USA Pulses, the leading voice for farmers and processors of American-grown pulses – the dry, edible seeds of legumes commonly known as dried peas, lentils, chickpeas and dry beans – today announced that Northarvest Bean Growers Association has joined its growing coalition. This addition significantly expands USA Pulses’ national footprint and further strengthens its efforts to meet the ambitious goal of doubling pulse crop consumption and production by 2030.

“As food systems around the world prioritize nutrition, affordability, and land resilience, the role of pulse crops in these discussions is becoming vital.” said Paul Kanning, Board Chairman of USA Pulses. “Pulses are uniquely positioned to help lead this transformation, benefiting both farmers and consumers alike.”
“We’re thrilled to join USA Pulses’ membership and support their vision of addressing the world’s most pressing health challenges through innovation, marketing, policy development, and education,” said Mitch Coulter, Executive Director of Northarvest Bean Growers Association.
“As the nation’s largest growing and shipping region for dry beans, this partnership represents an exciting opportunity to sustain our impact within the industry,” added Tony Richards, President of Northarvest Bean Growers Association.
By doubling the production and consumption of pulses by 2030, USA Pulses aims to transform public health, boost rural economies, and secure a more resilient future for farmers. The addition of Northarvest Bean Growers Association further strengthens USA Pulses’ growing coalition, which include growers, processors, exporters, food manufacturers, and allied organizations from across the U.S. pulse value chain.
