Pulse Label feasibility study

Nutrition. Sustainability. Opportunity.

USA Pulses is committed to advancing the growth and recognition of U.S.-grown pulses, including dry peas, lentils, chickpeas, and dry beans. Through research, education, and market development initiatives, USA Pulses works to strengthen demand for pulses and support the long-term success of the industry.

As part of this effort, USA Pulses has partnered with SureHarvest – a Division of Where Food Comes From, to conduct a Pulse Label Feasibility Study exploring whether a consumer-facing label could help shoppers more easily identify foods made with U.S.-grown pulses.

Pulses are recognized for their nutritional value, versatility, and contribution to sustainable agricultural systems, yet consumer awareness remains relatively low compared to many other food categories. This study will help assess consumer perceptions, industry perspectives, and the potential role a voluntary label could play in increasing awareness and market demand.
